A new study group focusing on driving theory in Great Britain is launching in Cardiff, offering essential knowledge for Ukrainians planning to drive in the UK.

A welcoming English Conversation Club meets every Tuesday at Ruta Kitchen in Swansea, offering local residents a relaxed opportunity to practice their language skills in a friendly, supportive environment.

On October 27th, the “Garden of Memories” art exhibition held its closing event in Caerphilly, marking a special evening of cultural exchange and community support. The exhibition featured works by Olesia Miftahova, a talented Ukrainian artist currently based in Wales, and was steeped in authentic Welsh culture, celebrating the power of remembrance and human solidarity. The ‘Ukrainians in Wales’ online magazine served as the media partner for the exhibition.

Following a celebrated success in Neath, Ruta Kitchen has officially opened its second location at 14 Nelson Street, bringing “a little piece of Ukraine… to the heart of the city” of Swansea. This expansion marks a new chapter in a story that began with a dream and was forged in resilience.

The Ukrainian Catholic community across Wales has seen a change in its pastoral leadership. Father Taras, who had previously served the community, has been transferred to Edinburgh.

The “Senedd 4 Ukraine” initiative, a cross-party solidarity group from the Welsh Parliament (Senedd), has launched its latest mission to deliver vital aid to Ukraine. This convoy, comprising five vehicles to be donated upon arrival. The initiative is spearheaded by Mick Antoniw MS, Member of the Senedd for Pontypridd and a second-generation Ukrainian living in Wales. Since February 2022, Antoniw and his colleagues have organized 12 trips to Ukraine under the ‘Senedd 4 Ukraine’ banner, delivering a total of 30 vehicles and over £1 million in aid. Recipients have testified that this support has been invaluable and has saved lives.

CARDIFF, 16th October 2025 – The Ukrainian Hub Cymru Wales celebrated its official grand relaunch on Thursday, marking a significant milestone in the deepening partnership between Wales and Ukraine. The event, held at the Hub’s location on St Andrews Crescent in Cardiff, was attended by First Minister of Wales Eluned Morgan, who came to celebrate the organisation’s remarkable growth and its vital role in Welsh community life.

Monday morning, October 6, brought the Ukrainian community of Caerphilly another warm moment of unity and gratitude. A moving ceremony took place at Morgan Jones Park to plant an apple tree in the Ukrainian Gratitude Orchard. Wales Green Party leader Anthony Slaughter and party candidate Gareth Hughes joined the Ukrainian community for the occasion.

On Friday evening, a group of Ukrainians gathered outside Swansea Brangwyn Hall, deeply distressed by a concert of Russian music being celebrated there.
