DPIA (Displaced People in Action) will host a specialized Housing Support Forum for displaced people, refugees, and asylum seekers living in Wales on Tuesday, 26th August from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.
The forum aims to provide participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in two key areas. Attendees will learn about social housing processes, including how housing allocations work, expected waiting times, and available support services. The session will also cover securing private rented accommodation, offering step-by-step guidance on finding homes, successful application processes, budgeting for costs, and understanding tenant rights.
Representatives from Cardiff Council and the Welsh Refugee Council will speak directly to participants, providing opportunities for questions and clear answers about housing-related concerns. The event is designed to reduce uncertainty and help attendees make informed decisions about their housing options.
The forum will take place at the DPIA office located at 3rd Floor, Hastings House, Fitzalan Place, Cardiff CF24 0BL. For those unable to attend in person, online participation is available via Zoom using the meeting ID 991 8909 0701 or through the link https://zoom.us/j/97972677521.
DPIA will cover travel costs within Cardiff or data costs to ensure participants can attend without financial barriers. The organization encourages early registration to support attendance planning.
